I recently got out of prison and have been working hard to find a job, but it’s been really tough. I keep getting turned down for things I can’t control—like not having a car, or being in a homeless shelter, which makes employers worry about things like bugs. On top of that, I’m dealing with some serious mental health challenges. I reached a breaking point and tried to take my own life, which led to me being kicked out of the shelter for good. Now, I have nowhere to stay.
While I was in the hospital, I got the devastating news that my father passed away. He was the only person who would help me out when he could, and now I feel completely alone. I’m at my wit’s end and trying to figure out how to move forward.
I’m raising funds to help with basic needs like housing, transportation, food, hygiene supplies, blankets if I have to sleep outside, and clothing for job interviews. I’d be grateful for any support as I rebuild my life.
