Life can change in a heartbeat, and for Eduardo, it truly did.

His mother recently suffered a very serious stroke, the kind that alters everything. Doctors say she will be hospitalized for at least the next year, with a long road to recovery ahead. In the midst of this heartbreaking news, Eduardo had to make the difficult and selfless decision to leave his home, job, and community behind to move to San Diego and be by her side.

Eduardo is now taking on the enormous responsibility of managing all of his mother’s affairs, her medical care, finances, legal matters, and day-to-day needs, while also trying to stay afloat himself during an incredibly uncertain and emotional time.

He had no time to prepare. No safety net. Just love for his mom and a determination to be there for her.

We’re raising funds to help Eduardo with:

• Emergency relocation to San Diego

• Temporary housing and basic living expenses

• Loss of income after leaving his job

• Travel and transportation costs related to hospital care

• Legal and financial responsibilities he's now handling for his mom
