When power dynamics are uneven and authority figures are inconsistent, mothers are often left feeling unheard and unprotected. Instead of receiving support, we are pressured to “just make it go away,” even when children’s safety and dignity are at stake.

Ultimately, I felt forced to agree to leave under unrealistic conditions simply to de-escalate the situation and protect my son.
