Help a Mother and Son Secure Safety, Stability, and a Fresh Start
My name is Ebony, and I am a single mother raising a bright, sensitive, and resilient 10-year-old son Kingston. I am reaching out during a moment of urgent need not just because of housing instability, but because of how unsafe, overwhelming, and unsupported this experience has become.
This is not just about losing a place to stay.
It’s about what happens when mothers and children are forced to navigate unsafe situations with little protection, limited time, and no real power.
⸻
What We Are Facing
Before I was able to secure the door of the space my son and I were temporarily occupying, there were repeated boundary violations and unauthorized intrusions some occurring while my child was changing clothes and while I was using the restroom or showering. As a mother, that alone was enough to make the environment feel unsafe.
When I enforced boundaries to protect my child, the situation escalated rather than resolved. What followed was intimidation, harassment, interference with locks, false accusations, and intense pressure to leave quickly creating an atmosphere of fear and instability.
In the Virgin Islands, navigating situations like this can be especially stressful. When power dynamics are uneven and authority figures are inconsistent, mothers are often left feeling unheard and unprotected. Instead of receiving support, we are pressured to “just make it go away,” even when children’s safety and dignity are at stake.
Ultimately, I felt forced to agree to leave under unrealistic conditions simply to de-escalate the situation and protect my son.
⸻
Why This Is Urgent
When a mother is pushed to move suddenly under stress:
• Children lose stability and a sense of safety
• Employment and income are immediately at risk
• Belongings, documents, and resources can be lost
• There is no time to plan, only to react
This is the reality many women face quietly especially when systems meant to protect instead add pressure.

How Donations Will Help Right Now
I am seeking to raise $15,000 to help stabilize our lives and prevent further harm. Donations will go toward:
• Safe, clean housing so my son can rest, feel secure, and continue to thrive
• Living expenses during this forced transition
• Transportation to maintain employment and grow my mobile business
• Educational stability for my son, who is homeschooled and deserves consistency
• Moving and relocation costs so we don’t lose what little we have left
This support is about regaining control, not charity.
⸻
Why Community Support Matters
Many women endure unsafe or coercive situations because they don’t have the resources to leave safely. Community support fills the gap when systems fail and time is working against us.
Your donation helps ensure that:
• A child doesn’t carry trauma into the next chapter
• A mother doesn’t have to choose between safety and survival
• Stability replaces fear

A Note of Hope
Despite everything, I am still moving forward. I recently secured a position as a secretary for a real estate agent and continue building my mobile business. I have also authored a children’s book available on Amazon proof that even in hardship, I am committed to creating opportunity and teaching resilience.
What I need now is breathing room space to rebuild without chaos.

Please Help If You Can
This request is urgent because safety and stability cannot wait.
If you are able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is just as powerful.
You are not just helping one family—you are standing up for mothers and children who deserve dignity, protection, and a fair chance to rebuild.
With gratitude,
Ebony & Kingston
