Help Us Fix Eastwood Road in Melissa, Texas

Hello everyone,

We are reaching out on behalf of the Eastwood community, located just outside the city limits of Melissa, Texas. Our neighborhood is home to many seniors, retired families, and hardworking individuals — and we are all facing a growing problem.

Our only road, Eastwood Road, is in terrible condition. It stretches about 2.3 miles, and is full of large potholes and deep ruts. The damage is not only hard on our vehicles, it also poses a safety risk — especially during and after rain, when the road becomes even worse.

Because we are not part of the city, the responsibility of road maintenance falls completely on our residents. We currently collect an $8.50 monthly fee per household to maintain the road, but unfortunately, only about 30% of residents are able to pay. Many in our community are on fixed incomes and simply can’t afford more.

We’ve reached a point where we can’t keep up with the damage. The money we raise isn’t enough for long-term repairs, and each time it rains, we’re back to square one.

That’s why we’re turning to you — our friends, neighbors, and anyone willing to help — to ask for donations to help us repair Eastwood Road. Every dollar raised will go directly toward fixing and maintaining the road. No amount is too small, and every contribution helps us get one step closer to a safer, more reliable way in and out of our homes.
