Support East Renfrewshire Food Larder

3 years ago during COVID Jennifer Lawrie and Rachel Egglestone started the East Renfrewshire Food Larder as they noticed a people within the community were struggling.

Since then the Larder has grown and moved into its own space in premises of Shanta Residential at 11 Muirend Road who they work closely with. The Larder operates with its core values of food dignity and on basis if you are in East Renfrewshire and require food support we will deliver to you discretley with no questions asked. At present the larder delivers between 50-70 food parcels each week all over East Renfrewshire and has a strong team of volunteers. The Larder have currently been supported by donations from individuals, businesses, sports clubs and schools and are run entirely self sufficeiently by contacts they have built up.

At the moment with cost of living, food costs and schools coming to the end of term we are struggling with the increased demand and lower donations. We have never ran a fundraising effort before but are asking for help now to enable us to keep going and support as many people as we can, particulary in the summer when the kids are off school and parents need to pay for all meals. Every single penny will be spent on food and put to good use next over the next few months that we anticipate to be quite challenging.
