Like so many families during the summer, E, J, and their children had taken a trip to the beach in Ocean City, MD. After enjoying a meal, their vacation quickly ended when ICE appeared behind them on the drive back to their rental. J was ripped away from his family, and for several days, they did not know where he was. Sadly, they learned that after moving from detention in Virginia to Texas, he was deported back to Honduras.

J is a loving family man who enjoyed taking his three kids to the park to kick the soccer ball (football) around or just staying home to watch a game. The family would attend church each week and then go out to eat after. However, with the fear of further abductions, all of that has now stopped. The younger children do not understand why their dad is gone or why their routines have changed. While E does work, J was the primary breadwinner, so she needs help paying rent and other bills and getting the kids ready for the upcoming school year.
