This holiday season, I have decided to support an organization near and dear to my heart. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is one of several conditions under the umbrella of medical conditions caused by autonomic nervous system dysfunction. I have had POTS since a very young age and it’s had fundamental impacts on my quality of life.

Dysautonomia International is doing amazing work in the advocacy for increased medical research and education around autonomic disorders. Their work has led to my own expanded understanding of dysautonomia and the different ways in which it impacts people’s lives. It’s very likely that without them I wouldn’t have found the standard of care that I have today.
