Hello everyone, my name is Duska, and I’m writing to you from Toronto.

For 37 years, Toronto has been my home. Throughout my life, I've always been fiercely independent, accustomed to relying on myself and working hard to build my own life. It is incredibly difficult for me to ask for help, but a recent diagnosis has forced me to reach out to you.

My Challenge: The Road Ahead

I have been diagnosed with cancer in both breasts, and I am scheduled for a major surgery. I know the recovery will be long and demanding.

My primary source of income is driving for Uber. Due to the nature of the surgery and the lengthy recovery process, I will be unable to work for an estimated one to two years. This news has hit me not only medically but also financially.

Why I Need Your Support

While my medical costs will be covered by the healthcare system, my biggest challenge is funding my basic living expenses during my recovery. Without my income from Uber, I will not be able to cover my rent, groceries, essential bills, and rehabilitation costs.

The goal of this campaign is to provide me with the financial security I need to focus entirely on my healing, without the added stress of how I will survive month to month. Every donation will go directly towards covering my fundamental living expenses.

The Path to Recovery

Asking for help is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I know it's necessary. I believe in my own strength and my determination to get back to my life as soon as I am able.
