This week, during a routine 22 week ultrasound, we discovered that our baby's development was incompatible with life.

We are devastated. There are no words to describe this feeling of loss - of a child, of our dreams and hopes for her future, of our daughter's hope and wish to be an older sibling. After a long journey through IVF to even be able to conceive, we are grieving this journey as we hope to pick up the pieces and move forward.

Currently, we write this from Chicago, where Amanda will be undergoing surgery on Monday at the University of Chicago to ensure her health moving forward. After that, we will spend some time back in Des Moines resting and recuperating after the surgery and this experience.

Thank you to the incredible support of Live Nation, many of our primary costs for this experience have been covered. Funds raised in the GoFundMe will go towards expenses not directly covered by Live Nation, including medical copays, loss of work, childcare during recovery, and similar.

In addition, any funds raised up to $5,000 will be matched by Live Nation. We cannot thank them enough for the resources and support during what has undoubtedly been the most difficult moment of our lives.
