Support Duncan's family following the death of his brother
Donation protected
While in Kenya last week, Agustin and I took a safari trip to the Maasai Mara, with a guide called Duncan. Over the three days we spent with Duncan, we bonded a lot, learning about his life and his family, he turned out to be one of the kindest, most positive people I've ever met. Even with his own financial challenges supporting his family with two young girls, he is also helping to support a young man in the rural Maasai village to get his license and begin his dream career in tourism.
During the trip we noticed Duncan taking phone calls in Swahili and looking very concerned but he would turn back to us with a big smile and continue making an incredible experience. On the journey back to the city at the end of the trip, Duncan revealed that his brother and 'best friend' Edward had gone missing 4 days before and still hadn't been found. We were horrified he hadn't told us, imagine your sibling was missing and you kept doing your job with a smile. He was concerned but positive he would be found.
Unfortunately, we have now learned that Duncan's brother was tragically killed by a hit and run. This means that Duncan is now without his brother and best friend, his wife is without a husband and his 2 young children are without a father to support them through life. As many of you may already know, salaries are very very low in Kenya, as low as 100 dollars a month. Duncan's family are struggling to raise the funds to have a proper burial for his brother, and we are very worried of how Edward's wife will now support her 2 young children alone. I am asking you my friends, if you want or can, to give a few pounds or euros to help this family. Small amounts can really go a long way and I promise you these people deserve it. Money cannot replace a loved one but we hope to help raise a little to help Duncan in looking after his brother's family. Thank you.
