Support Drake's Fight Against Kidney Disease

My name is Blair Wall and I am starting this fundraiser in hopes to raise money for my dear friend Rebekah Bowman, and her family. Rebekah’s son, Drake, was born with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease and is now being hospitalized for further care. This is an extensive stay and process for both Drake and his parents. Rebekah and her husband Zac have two other beautiful babies that they are caring for, along with making trips and stays in the hospital with Drake. The money raised will go directly to the Bowman family to support any medical needs, gas money, groceries/food delivery, etc., as they continue to provide for their kiddos and themselves during this time. Drake has Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease due to an obstruction in his urinary tract in utero. On May 15th, he had his hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis catheters placed. He received one session of hemodialysis after surgery and has been in the hospital while his peritoneal dialysis catheter heals. Doctors recommend 2-3 weeks for healing before using the catheter. While in the hospital, he got peritonitis, which is an infection of the peritoneum. He remained in the hospital for three weeks of IV antibiotics to treat it. As of now, the doctors plan to transfer him to the PICU on June 13th to initiate peritoneal dialysis. This is a process that will take 4-6 weeks for him to work up to the volumes that allow him to use a cycler at home. He will remain inpatient during this time, and they will provide training for Zac and me towards the end.
