My son’s best friend, Donnie, lost his dad after a month-long battle with complications from a severe motorcycle accident. Donnie’s dad was a single dad, and from what I understand, there’s not a strong family presence.

I’m trying to raise some funds for whatever the kid may need in the next couple of years. He goes to private school with Jordan, where his dad worked, and although I don’t know much about the family dynamics, I don’t think the kid has a lot of people he can count on. He is one of the most respectful and kind kids I know.

When my mom died in April, Donnie was there at the funeral home all day with Jordan. I want to repay his kindness.
