Friends, family, please bear with me as I am writing this at 2:30 am, having just learned of the news. We are still unaware of what the needs will be but, Lord knows they are great.

in the early hours of July 20th, my sister awoke in her apartment to smell of smoke. Within minutes, the flames, coming from the apartment below them erupted into flames. It was only through the grace of God that they managed to escape, with literally only the clothes on their backs. As of now, we are unsure of the extent of the injuries but one of my nephews and my sisters partner were rushed to emergency room for injuries. My sister, Dominique, her partner, their three boys and my youngest sister Taty lost everything they own. This money will go to provide my sister and her family with food, clothing, shelter, medical bills and whatever else they may require.

Update: the damage was worse than I originally thought. My sweet three year old nephew was air lifted to Shriners hospital. Both he and his dad are in critical condition. They lost literally everything, even their pets.
