Dear Friends and Family, and Compassionate Supporters,

I’m reaching out to ask for your prayers and support for my sister, Tara, and her husband, Dirk Lindsey, who are facing an incredibly tough journey. Dirk has been diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called MDS and is currently going through intense chemotherapy as he prepares for a crucial bone marrow transplant scheduled for May 14, 2025.

Dirk is not just a dedicated family man; he’s a remarkable individual who leaves a lasting impact on everyone he meets. Growing up in Deleon, Texas, he has a successful career in the peanut industry and is known for his kindness, unbreakable spirit, and a sense of humor that keeps everyone laughing. Tragically, Dirk and Tara lost all three of their children in a horrific car wreck caused by a drunk driver twenty years ago. Yet, through this profound sorrow, they’ve held onto their strong faith. They later adopted twin daughters, Hope and Faith, from China, bringing new joy and purpose into their lives. Dirk’s career has taken them as far as South Africa, but Alabama has been their home for many years, where the twins now attend the University of Alabama—Roll Tide!

Since his diagnosis, Dirk has shown incredible strength, but the road to recovery is long and uncertain. He has not been able to work for over a year due to his health, which has created significant financial strain on their family. We are hoping to raise $20,000 so they can focus on Dirk’s health and recovery without the added stress of financial worries. All donations will assist Dirk and Tara in covering their immediate living expenses and future needs while Dirk is unable to work and Tara supports him as his caregiver.
