<div>We are creating this GoFundMe on behalf of our dear friend, Demi (Dyson) Leeson &amp; her husband, Eric Leeson, to help cover expenses <strong>during their 4-year-old son, James’, heart transplant journey</strong> at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin.

<div>On January 7, 2025, James underwent heart surgery for a Berlin heart, a device to help squeeze his heart to circulate his blood while he waits for a new heart on the heart transplant list. <strong>The expected wait time for a new heart is 6-8 months. </strong>James will remain in the hospital for the entirety of this wait.

<div>James is a healthy, bubbly 4-year-old boy with a love for balloons and fishing, but on December 29, 2024, he was rushed to the hospital with heart failure. This was completely unexpected and has blindsided everyone as he had been perfectly healthy just days prior with no heart or health concerns. He was Care-flighted to Dell Children’s in Austin and has already undergone emergency surgery, extensive treatment (ECMO), X-rays, tests, and around-the-clock care. <strong>Doctors have shared that James’ treatment will be a marathon, not a sprint.</strong> While this life-saving care is a tremendous blessing, we’re asking at this time that you donate any amount you can to help cover medical expenses for this precious boy.

<div>On January 21st our beloved Pilot Jeff Mull was admitted to the hospital with Covid-19 Pneumonia. He is currently at Brooks Army Medical Center under a medically induced coma while the ECMO and ventilator work hard to repair his lungs. Many have asked how they can help. Members of his military  family has graciously taken the reigns and put together many avenues to support the entire family during this time. <strong><br />BYRON IS OK, HOME AND RECOVERING BUT NEEDS OUR SUPPORT<br /></strong><br />Byron Turner is an active and devoted father (Basil 8, and Leo 6), son and friend who has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 20 years.  On Tuesday, October 16th he suffered a massive heart attack while playing basketball, and during the incident also fell and experienced a head trauma. It was determined that he had 100% blockage in his right ventricle artery.  He underwent surgery and a coronary stent was inserted. Due to the multiple traumas and undetermined time his heart was not beating Byron was placed in a medically induced coma and intubated. He remained sedated and on a ventilator due to a lung infection and to give his heart time to rest. After six days Byron was removed from sedation and the ventilator. Miraculously, Byron was able to go home on October 24th. The doctors have determined that Byron is capable of fully recovering his brain and heart functions but he must complete extensive cardiac and physical rehabilitation and has a long recovery ahead. <br /><br /><strong>WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?<br /><br /></strong>Byron's income is the main source of financial support for his two children. The doctors are not able to say at this time when Byron will be able to return to work. This comes at a particularly difficult time for the family, as Basil and Leo's mother (Amy) is experiencing her own significant health issues. <br /><br />We want Byron to stay focused on his recovery instead of worrying about the financial burdens caused by this crisis. <br /><br /><strong>ALL FUNDS RAISED GO EXCLUSIVELY TO BYRON</strong><br /><br />All funds donated will be used for medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily living expenses.<br /><br /><br />With immense gratitude and love,<br /><br />- Friends and Family of Byron Turner

Kennedy was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is beginning treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  As many of you know, Kennedy is a strong and determined young woman who will fight to overcome this challenge and go on with her life.<br /><br />She is ready to BEAT cancer and will not let it slow her down during treatment.  She will continue her classes at Yakima Valley College online, working towards her Radiologic Technician degree.  <br /><br />We are organizing this GoFundme to help cover the costs associated with living away from home, and receiving her treatments in Seattle for at least 5months.  Money raised will be used for transportation, housing, food and medical costs not coved by insurance and our personal savings.<br /><br />After Kennedy’s treatment, remaining monies will be donated to the Seattle Children’s Hospital.<br /><br />We thank you for supporting Kennedy in her fight against cancer.
