Support Dignity in Design: End Hostile Architecture
Donation protected
Dignity in Design aims to raise awareness of hostile architecture. Prevalent in areas like New York City, hostile architecture is an urban design strategy that is utilized to restrict certain people or activities from public spaces. Yearly, the government spends an increasing amount of money on implementing these designs, yet they fail to address the issue at its core. Hostile architecture does not provide a solution against homelessness but rather attempts to hide it.
Our organization aims to enlighten others about the cruel nature of hostile architecture and encourage empathy in Americans. Many homeless individuals struggle with their mental health or drug addiction, which can often make it dangerous to engage in interactions. However, there are countless other ways to aid in alleviating this issue. Donate what you can; give away gently-worn clothes; or volunteer at a soup kitchen. Dignity in Design uses your generous donations and passes them on to a shelter in NYC. These shelters include, but are not exclusive to, the Bowery Mission, New York Cares, and Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation.
