C.C. has set up this GoFundMe on behalf of our comrade, Dex, who is struggling with the chaos of life. All funds will go to her roommate who will make sure the money gets to Dex safely and quickly.

C’s statement:

I met Dex online, though we bonded quickly through activism. We shared thoughts on the way the world was, and in 10 hours or less, we became good friends. I’ve known Dex for about a month, but time doesn’t matter when a comrade is in crisis. She’s an important member of her community, both in person and online. Dex is living in a difficult situation, and struggling to make ends meet. She lives off of booking fees from her work as an artist, though she's struggled to work at her usual capacity due to disability and lack of transportation.

I’ve set up this GoFundMe because I care about my friends, or with that being said, anyone who is struggling. Dex has made a difference in my life, and I hope to do the same.

Dex’s statement:

My name is Dex, and I'm a disabled street medic and community advocate who's been honored to serve my local homeless populations for over a decade and a half. I've raised thousands of dollars for charitable causes while actively struggling with physical mobility, domestic violence, and more recently, homelessness. After a lot of contemplation, I've decided to ask for the same help I've given.

I've been deeply fortunate to be able to stay on friends couches and connect with local homeless encampments prior to getting Section 8 housing, which I was forced to leave due to stalking and threats to my life. I was forced to leave everything behind, though had managed to keep a small amount of savings, which lasted me a month.

Since July, I've barely scraped by with my own necessities, but have been grateful to continue feeding my communities, providing space for local artists, and giving grassroots medical care while my housing's been up in the air again.

I'm also an award-winning poet and performance artist, my primary source of income, but survival mode (and a lack of transportation funds) has kept me from working at the capacity I usually would.

I've been renovating a friend's attic to stay in, but recently discovered that beyond winter, its unlikely to be sustainable or long-term.

The goal amount for this fundraiser is intended to go towards transportation, groceries (supplemented by food pantries), medic supplies, and future rent payments. Once I'm set on transportation, I'll be able to actively work to save toward these goals as well.
