Hi everyone, my name is Ashley, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend and coworker, Desiree. We work together in our union, and right now she and her family are facing an incredibly difficult time.

Her 5-year-old son recently underwent emergency brain surgery and is now beginning treatment for additional tumors on his spine. This journey will require ongoing medical care, appointments, and time away from work so that Desiree can be by her son’s side every step of the way.

As a union family, we stand together—and right now, she needs our help. The financial strain of being out of work, combined with medical and travel expenses, is overwhelming. This fundraiser will help with household bills, travel costs to and from the hospital, meals, and other expenses that allow the family to focus entirely on Petrus’s recovery.
