Support Dental Kits for Kensington's Community

Hello! Our names are Milena Alex and Diya Arun! We started this nonprofit as a means to provide dental hygiene kits to individuals who don’t receive any dental care, specifically those in Kensington.

Teeth play an important role in eating, chewing, and nutrition, and they are an important part of a person's smile. When individuals don’t take care of their teeth, tooth decay can start to occur, which can contribute to brain inflammation, neuro-degeneration, and Alzheimer's. It can also negatively impact your mental health.

Kensington is known as the Philadelphia region’s opioid crisis center, and according to the FDA, individuals with opioid use disorder tend to have higher incidences of poor dental health. Opioids cause the teeth to develop dental caries, dental abscesses or infections, tooth erosion, and tooth loss.

These individuals are often overlooked, and in order to provide them with proper care, we started this nonprofit. Our goal is to raise money so that we can make dental kits for the individuals in Kensington. The dental kits will include toothbrushes, toothpaste, tongue cleaners, and floss. We will be making around 100 kits. Once the kits are made, we will be delivering them to Kensington. Please help our mission become possible by donating today!
