Support Dennis and Sherry's Recovery from Helene

Like thousands of others, Dennis and Sherry Shannon were severely impacted by Hurricane Helene when it passed through their home in Hudson, Florida, in September 2024. Though they tried to take all precautions and preparations that they could to protect their home from the storm, it could not prevent the storm surge, which caused flooding five feet high. Dennis and Sherry evacuated to safety but lost all of their possessions, furnishings, and appliances and face irreparable damage to their home.

In addition to the costs to replace and rebuild, they are also having to pay rent for a temporary home. Due to Sherry's on going cancer treatment in Florida they cannot relocate out of the area to temporarily live with family in other parts of the country.

The Shannon family wishes to provide their ongoing support for Dennis and Sherry by raising funds with this GoFundMe. The Shannon family’s goal is to provide Dennis and Sherry with funds so they may start to rebuild their lives by replacing their daily necessities and furnishings for their home that were lost to the storm and to assist with their rent while they rebuild.
