Support Decatur Kids: Save Their Safe Haven

PLEA FOR HELP!!! The Shemilah Outreach Center is losing its building due to malfeasance on someone else’s part.

I met this man, Shemuel Sanders, about two years ago. He was open arms all the way, talking about dark stuff; his beautiful daughter being shot and killed, just as an innocent bystander. The death of a child is one of the hardest things anyone has to go through. His strength is almost surreal because admittedly, if I were in his shoes, I would have cracked and gone ballistic. But what does he do? He composes himself, then thrives. He takes care of all these children here in Decatur and central Illinois. His outreach center feeds, houses, and employs these kids to stay out of trouble, do something positive for the community, and learn and grow with respect and regard. I absolutely LOVE what this man does for our city but…

Now HE is in need, he’s helped us all these years, helping our children grow with faith and purpose, now it’s OUR TURN to help out. The man needs a building. The children need a building. We have plenty of vacant buildings and buildings that go unused here, what can we do? Is there some business or organization that can look at this as cost or tax savings by donation? Is there anything that we can do to help Mr. Sanders out?

When things get tough, this guy just steps it up a notch to still get things done. He’s a humble man and a GOOD MAN❤️

This is the help that we truly and desperately need! We would love for some people to step up so Shemuel can continue to do his good work and help the children of Decatur and beyond. We live in the most giving community that I have ever been a part of. Now is the time to help.
