On a day that began like any other, a car collided with another vehicle and crashed through the wall of our local daycare, igniting an electrical meter and causing an instant, almost explosive fire. In the midst of chaos, five daycare staff members became true heroes. Harley, one of the staff, described the terrifying moment: 'It was just me, 33 kids, and 4 staff. I had two 2-year-olds with me when a loud crash shook the building and the power went out. I grabbed the two kids and put them behind the door. When I opened it, there was a large fire directly in front of me. I screamed for everyone to get out, and together, we rushed to find and evacuate all the children.'
The staff worked together, ushering the children off the playground and around the building, counting and recounting to make sure every child was safe and accounted for. Parents were extremely relieved to find their children unharmed, thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of these teachers. The staff’s courage and selflessness ensured that every child made it out safely, and their actions will never be forgotten.
Now, these five staff members face recovery costs, lost wages, and the emotional toll of such a traumatic event. As a parent of one of the children saved, I am forever grateful for their heroism. I have created this Gofundme in hopes to give back to them in any way I can for saving our children’s lives, lives that are more valuable than money can buy. These individuals will need support in treatment for healing, replacing any damaged or lost items, as well as something to remind them how much they are valued by our community. Please help me praise and reward these amazing teachers. Without their quick thinking and bravery, this could’ve been a grave outcome. Any amount is appreciated. I will be collecting the funds and distributing them equally via electronic transfer to each of the five staff members. These funds will be distributed whenever the transfers are made out of the gofundme donations in hopes to provide them financial aid as soon as possible.
