Both suffered severe smoke inhalation burns inside their lungs. Nix, one of my twins, has made a full recovery, but Dax is still on life support at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City and is unable to breathe on his own.

Our family is now split between the hospital and Richfield, where Dax's siblings are staying. We are trying to manage travel, medical needs, and the overwhelming task of rebuilding our lives from scratch after losing our home. We are a family of God and faith, and we are leaning on our community and the kindness of others during this unimaginable time.
