My name is David Durrence. I have terminal lung disease. I also have a wife and child. I've worked hard all my life at labor-intensive jobs to provide for us.
The wife and I got a late start with kids, mainly because we wanted to be settled, have a house, and secure jobs.
We thought we were there, then my company, a steel company, got bought out and then closed up. The same company that allowed conditions that contributed to my lung disease.
If that wasn't bad enough, my wife loses her job due to the consolidation of the state's university system. Nothing we could control.
So here we are, asking for help for a lung transplant at Mayo in Jacksonville. They need to see the funds in my account to ensure a successful outcome.
I'd love to see my boy graduate and go on. Anything you can do is appreciated.
