Help Davey Merchant Reclaim His Life After a Spinal Cord Injury

Our 26-year-old son, Davey, has always felt most alive in the great outdoors—whether he was fishing, hunting, or just being outside. Nature has always been his joy, his therapy, and his way of connecting with the world.

But recently, everything changed.

Davey was in a devastating car accident that resulted in a complete spinal cord injury. Overnight, our strong, independent son lost the ability to walk. He currently has little to no feeling in his legs, and he’s facing a new reality we never imagined.

Despite this, Davey is not giving up—and neither are we.

We are raising funds to get him to Craig Hospital in Colorado, one of the nation’s top spinal cord rehabilitation centers. Their programs offer intensive therapy, hope, and the best chance at helping Davey regain strength, dignity, and a chance to walk again.

Right now, time is critical. Davey does not have health insurance, and we’re doing everything we can to get him the care he needs. We’re asking for your help to make this possible.
