This is my sisters dog Dash! He is the sweetest boy! Unfortunately he injured himself by running and falling about five feet down into the entryway of a friends house. From Dash’s perspective he didn’t see the drop the way the retaining wall looked from his sightline. He had a sizable tear in his bladder and therefore he could not pee and urine has begun to fill his abdomen and also other internal organs were severely bruised. He was howling in pain and it was discovered he could not pee…he then started to endlessly throw up. My sister took him to the er obviously, and he has now been In the er for four days now awaiting surgery (had to wait for his heart rate to slow down due to arithmea and bruising) Money has been extremely tight for them as it was and now with the monitoring and care at the er (1500.00 per day) and now with catheter in to find out if urine is in the bladder or the abdomen. They came to the conclusion yesterday that it was in the bladder which was good news (6000.00 vet bill at the first vet) to now today them saying they actually had the catheter in wrong and in fact the urine is in his abdomen because of a tear (very life threatening) now requiring surgery. They took him to a different emergency vet because the first one seemed to had already made mistakes. Now at Boundary Bay Vet Clinic there surgery was deemed to be possible (surgery 9700.00)
Dash is only 2 to 3 years old (he was adopted so we don’t know his exact age) so we have to save him! He is such an ray of light! He is a beloved family member and we all love him so much! My sister and family unfortunately do not even have room on their credit cards for this massive bill. They have cashed in what little retirement money they had saved and this still will not cover it! The financial burden is very hard to overcome at this moment in life.
My sister and family are the hardest working small business owners and this emergency is so blind siding and Dash is so beloved.
The anxiety is very high at the moment for all. This vet bill among MANY other life’s financial hardships for them at this time. If you can help it would be so appreciated:) thank you so much! Anyone who knows Jason and Lisa and the girls knows how special Dash is to them!
All monies to go to Jason, Lisa, Ainsley and Jillian Zenowski of Surrey, BC Canada
