Support Dante and Justice for Tenants in BC Housing Case.

Donation protected
My name is Dante, and I’m a tenant, a husband, and a father of a 3-year-old boy—with another baby due in just one month. I work as an Uber driver in Vancouver, BC, doing everything I can to provide food and shelter for my growing family with current circumstances.

But I’m also fighting a legal battle that no working-class family should ever be forced to take on alone, a battle that’s not just about me, but about tenant justice in British Columbia.

What This Is About

Last year, I was wrongfully evicted by my former landlords. I took the matter to the Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) and won. A monetary order for 12 months rent was issued in my favour after the RTB found that the eviction was in bad faith.

But instead of complying with the order, my former landlords hired legal counsel and launched a judicial review in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, using the court system to stall payment and delay justice.

Since then, the court process has dragged on through four adjournments, largely because of repeated procedural abuse by the opposing side. Each delay has increased my legal costs, now totalling over $20,000, while I continue to support my family and care for my mother, who is being treated at Vancouver General Hospital for advanced thyroid cancer.

Why This Matters to More Than Just Me

This is no longer just about recovering the monetary order against the landlords.

This is about exposing a pattern of legal abuse in British Columbia where landlords with financial privilege and legal resources are using the courts to outlast and financially exhaust tenants, even after the RTB rules in the tenant’s favour.

This case reveals a major gap in our system: RTB orders can be rendered meaningless if landlords refuse to comply and then weaponize the judicial review process to delay enforcement indefinitely, something most tenants cannot afford to fight.

What I’m Fighting For
• To enforce a lawful decision already made in my favour.
• To stand my ground so that my landlords are held accountable for their abuse of process in every level of justice this case has gone through.
• To bring attention to a growing injustice affecting tenants across BC.
• To protect my family from being pushed into housing insecurity just for standing up for what’s right.

I’m not asking for charity, I’m asking for solidarity. I’m asking for help to keep this fight going, and to show that justice shouldn’t belong only to the wealthy and well-connected.

Where the Funds Will Go
• Covering legal expenses for the ongoing Supreme Court judicial review and any future hearings
• Support for advocacy and public awareness efforts if this case opens a door to broader change
• Basic living costs (rent, food, transportation) potentially affected when I focus on attending the proceedings at time when I’m unable to continue to drive full-time and support my pregnant wife, son and parents.

Help Me Finish What I Started

I’ve respected every step of the legal process. I’ve shown up. I’ve remained patient. But I can’t do this alone anymore.

If you believe that tenants should not be forced to pay tens of thousands just to enforce a fair decision…
If you believe landlords should not be allowed to hide behind court delays to escape responsibility…
If you believe in fairness, integrity, and justice in housing…

Please support this campaign, and help me carry this case to the finish line.

Every dollar, every share, every voice matters.
