Help Dan Receive the Dignity and Care He Deserves
Hi, my name is David Daniel Teufel, and I’m reaching out for help on behalf of my father, Dan Teufel — a proud veteran, a hardworking lineman, and a man who spent his life serving others, even while quietly fighting his own battles.
Dan served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army and was always proud of his service. After returning home, he spent decades as a lineman and later worked for the U.S. government, dedicating his life to keeping others safe and the lights on — no matter the weather, danger, or long hours. His strength, work ethic, and loyalty defined him.
A Rapid Decline
Sadly, the man who once faced every challenge head-on is now facing his greatest battle yet. Dan has been diagnosed with Paranoid Delusional Personality Disorder, Dementia, and is currently undergoing dialysis for kidney failure.
In just the past few months, his dementia has progressed rapidly. He’s become increasingly disoriented, anxious, and unable to care for himself safely. The facility he’s currently in has done what it can, but they’ve informed us that they won’t be able to meet his growing memory care and behavioral needs much longer.
Without a transition to a dedicated memory care facility, Dan faces the risk of being moved into a setting that isn’t equipped to manage his complex medical and mental health conditions.
Why We Need Help
I’ve been working tirelessly to find my father a new home where he can receive the specialized care, stability, and dignity he deserves. But the process — from securing placement and medical coordination to handling his daily needs — has placed a heavy financial and emotional burden on me.
I’ve been traveling frequently from Utah to assist with his care, appointments, and transitions. My vehicle — which I depend on for these trips — now urgently needs new tires and repairs just to remain safe and reliable. These ongoing travel and maintenance costs, along with the expenses of Dan’s care, have become more than I can sustain alone.
How Your Donations Will Help
Your support will go directly toward:
Transitioning Dan into a new memory care facility that can meet his complex needs with compassion and professionalism.
Medical and daily living costs associated with his care, including dialysis and supervision.
Vehicle repairs and travel expenses, including new tires, allowing me to continue providing hands-on support between Utah and his care facility.
Essential expenses that I’ve taken on while managing his affairs and care full-time.
Every contribution — large or small — makes a real difference in ensuring Dan receives proper care, comfort, and stability in his final years.
A Life of Service and Strength
Dan’s life has always been defined by service — to his country, his work, and his family. He jumped out of airplanes with the 82nd Airborne, climbed power poles as a lineman, and worked for the government with quiet dedication.
Now, as his health declines, it’s our turn to serve him — to honor his life by ensuring he’s cared for with dignity and compassion.
If you can, please consider donating or sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or church community. Even a small gift or a simple share helps more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your generosity in helping my father find safety, peace, and dignity in this difficult stage of life.
With gratitude and faith,
David Daniel Teufel
