I'm hoping Mutual Aid can help my friend where institutions have failed.

Dahlia is a very dear friend of mine. She is a Black, disabled trans woman struggling to survive in an unstable, neglectful household. This environment is taking a significant toll on Dahlia's mental health while also failing to meet her basic needs, including access to food, water, and safety. Right now Dahlia is in urgent need of immediate financial support to help her survive this incredibly hostile living situation.

She is currently living with a caregiver who is very psychologically unstable and dissociated from reality, resulting in a volatile, often dangerous home environment. Currently, she is deliberately neglecting her as a means of maintaining power and authority in the household. Dahlia herself has had ongoing struggles with severe depression and bipolar disorder, and has survived several suicide attempts. This has been made worse by psych professionals dismissing her and mishandling her case. Despite it all, she is making great progress towards gaining a definitive diagnosis that will help her officially get on Disability.

In the meantime, however, she NEEDS our support! Donations to this fundraiser will go directly toward helping Dahlia afford food, survive her current situation, and hopefully leave for a safer environment.
