Hi, this is Riad and Hanan. We’re sponsoring this fund to help our sister-in-law, Dalia Abu Harb, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, after it had been in remission since 2020.
As some of you know, my wife Hanan’s family is living in Tulkarm on Palestine’s West Bank. For the past several months the village has been under severe occupation. Armored bulldozers have torn up the roads and the two refugee camps, including Nur Shams where Hanan grew up, have been destroyed by bombs and tanks. Thousands of families have been displaced. Soldiers have also evacuated apartment buildings, forcing the residents to leave all of their belongings behind and flee with nowhere to go.
Dalia, her husband Sajed (Hanan’s brother) and their two girls, Latifa and Miriam, were forced from their home. They were fortunate enough to be able to move in with Hanan’s mother and sister into their nearby apartment.
The situation there is dire. They can barely leave the apartment as soldiers are on the streets and have snipers planted on rooftops. There is no employment and the medical resources are very limited. Meanwhile, Dalia was diagnosed with mycosis fungoides. She is suffering from skin legions and the treatment available to her is methotrexate and phototherapy. Because they have no insurance coverage they must pay cash for six months of treatment.
We are trying to raise the funds so that Dalia can get the treatment she needs to care for her two little girls and someday, with her husband, reclaim their lives from this brutal occupation.
Sajed and Dalia are two of the kindest people I’ve known, and we have an incredible amount of love and hope for them and their girls. Anything you contribute will go towards Dalia’s fight against this disease, and any amount is greatly appreciated.
We’re only sharing this gofundme with close friends and family. However, please pass it on to anyone who may feel moved to help.
Our deepest thanks and appreciation.
Riad and Hanan
