Support Dad's Cancer Fight: Help Replace his Aggie Ring!
Donation protected
Help replace my dad's Aggie ring! My dad is currently in the hospital fighting Leukemia, and a few weeks ago, when he was first admitted, he had terrible shakes. At some point, his Aggie ring fell off, but neither he nor my mom noticed, and then the bedsheets got changed. The hospital helped us look for weeks, and we are pretty sure it got thrown out by accident. My dad was distraught, as he has been wearing that ring since he graduated in 1961. In the 90s, he and my mom even added a 1-carat diamond to the center.
My dad is in the fight for his life, and while a ring is nothing compared to surviving, it's a symbol. It's the symbol of Aggie resilience, pride, and fight. My dad has embodied the 12th man spirit more than anyone I know. Those who are Aggies understand the symbolism and power the ring holds and how it creates an unspoken bond with even strangers you see at the airport when you spot that ring.
During this difficult time, the thing he needs most is love. We are so fortunate that my parents' healthcare is covering his treatment, and so medical bills will not be the issue. But can you help donate to replace his ring? This is the kind of thing that just might help him fight this to the end. Anything left over after we replace the ring will get donated to Texas A&M for other Aggies who need a ring.
