Help Support Cycelie’s Children After Her Brave Fight With Cancer
On July 5, 2025, our beloved Cycelie —just 39 years old and a devoted mother of four young children—passed away after a long and courageous 5-year battle with Stage 4 breast cancer.
Cycelie’s journey began in April 2020 when she discovered a lump in her breast. Her primary care provider initially assured her it was just a harmless, fluid-filled cyst. Tragically, it turned out to be Stage 4 cancer—aggressive and already spread to her lungs, spine, hips, shoulders, long bones, and brain.
From that moment, Cycelie entered a relentless cycle of treatments: chemotherapy infusions every 21 days, daily cancer medications, steroids, and powerful pain management drugs. She endured two major surgeries—a craniotomy and spinal cord procedure—followed by a brain shunt placement in April 2025 to relieve dangerous pressure caused by growing brain tumors.
By June 2025, her doctors had exhausted every treatment option. With heavy hearts, we entered hospice care, and just 22 days later, Cycelie passed away peacefully at home—surrounded by her mother and her four children, now ages 9, 10, 12, and 13.
A Family Already Marked by Tragedy
Nearly 9 years ago, on May 12, 2016, Cycelie’s four children lost their father, Johnnie Tremaine Johnson, who tragically passed away from a heart attack at just 27 years old. At the time, their youngest was only 8 months old.
Now, with the passing of their beautiful mother, these children are orphaned—facing life without either of their parents.
What Happens Now
Per Cycelie’s final wish, her children will be raised by their grandparents. While they are surrounded by love, they are also facing unimaginable loss—and a future full of challenges.
Cycelie worried most about missing the milestones: birthdays, Sweet 16s, proms, graduations, weddings. From her hospice bed, she told us she wanted her children to experience every joy, every celebration, just as she would have made sure of if she could still be here.
How You Can Help
We are asking for your prayers, your words of encouragement, and, if you are able, your financial support.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Daily living expenses and stability for the children
• School activities, supplies, and extracurriculars
• Mental health and grief counseling
• Making sure they can experience the milestones their mother hoped for
No amount is too small, and every gesture of support helps carry this family forward.
Thank You
Cycelie was love in motion—a fiercely dedicated mother, daughter, and friend. Her legacy now lives on through her children, who need all of us more than ever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us honor Cycelie’s memory and support her children in this next chapter.
With love and gratitude,
