Cultura Plenera Cultural Center Soft Opening

Cultura Plenera—a nonprofit building community through Puerto Rican cultural expressions—invites you to help revitalize our space in the historic building at 402 5th Avenue in Brunswick, Maryland.

Thanks to $54,716 from Brunswick Main Street, we are on our way—and this GoFundMe will fund the final steps for a December soft opening. With your support, we can unlock the full potential of a space that will serve Brunswick and the Puerto Rican community in the diaspora for generations.

With your support, this 1920 landmark will become the Cultura Plenera Cultural Center—a vibrant hub for heritage and community connection. We seek $30,341 to complete essential renovations for accessibility and code compliance. These include:

· Modern HVAC for year-round comfort and energy efficiency — $6,941

· Drywall for safe, welcoming spaces — $12,800

· Electrical upgrades for lighting and technology — $2,800

· ADA-compliant parking and walkways for accessibility — $7,700

These four improvements are the final pieces needed for our center to receive Use & Occupancy approval, which we need to start operating.

This project is about more than bricks and mortar. It's about:
