Hi, my name is Crystrial Polio, and I’m asking for help during a very difficult and overwhelming time in my life.

On my birthday, my car — a 2012 Ford Edge with over 270,000 miles — suddenly started overheating. It turned out to be a leaking water pump. Unfortunately, because of the engine’s design, the repair shop can’t access the pump without removing the entire engine — making it an extremely costly fix. Right now, I don’t have the funds to get it repaired, but without it, I’m struggling to get to work, appointments, and support my family.

To make things even harder, I lost my sister in May, and shortly after, had to take on the cost of closing her storage unit to recover her belongings. On top of that, I’m now responsible for probate costs not only for my sister, but also for my father, who passed away in 2018 — costs that continue to build and can’t be delayed.

At the same time, I’ve had to make heartbreaking sacrifices, including giving up my puppies because I simply couldn’t afford to care for them anymore. My home also needs critical repairs that I can’t put off, and I’m trying to prepare for an upcoming hip surgery — all while getting ready for back-to-school and sports season for my three amazing sons, ages 16, 13, and 9.

I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but right now, it’s just more than I can manage. I’m doing this fundraiser with hope that kind hearts out there can help us through this storm.
