My coworker is a civil servant Crew Chief in Falcon AMU and a recent AFMC Leo Marquez award winner. She’s known for her dedication, running the cann program and always going above and beyond for her team. Recently, she bought a new house in Tehachapi, hoping to build a fresh start for herself and her family.

A few days ago, tragedy struck. Her new home caught fire, completely destroying her kitchen and leaving nearly all her belongings either ruined or smoke damaged. At the same time, she’s facing a family health emergency, making this an especially difficult period. Despite everything, she continues to commute daily from LA to Edwards AFB to fulfill her duties as a Crew Chief, showing incredible resilience and commitment to her work. Insurance repairs are expected to take about six months, meaning she’ll be living with the aftermath for quite some time.
