The Sink Oar Swim Float Group is fundraising for Covenant House, an organization that gives young people facing homelessness a safe place to land and the support to rise from there.
Our float carries that story into the water. She begins the as a swan, low and quiet, then rises through her own transformation into a phoenix, wings lifted in flight by the end of the route. It's a picture of what already happens inside Covenant House every day. A young person arrives with nothing steady beneath them, and through shelter, meals, counseling, and consistent care, they rise into a life they get to choose for themselves.
Covenant House opens its doors to kids with nowhere else to go, no conditions attached. Some have aged out of foster care. Some are running from a home that was never safe. Some are survivors of trafficking, rebuilding a sense of safety from the ground up. What they're offered in return is steady: a bed, food, healthcare, education support, and people who stay long enough to help a young life gain altitude again.
Our float is a two minute performance on the water. Their rise takes longer, and it takes real support behind it. That's what this fundraiser is for. Every gift goes directly toward the shelter, meals, and care that make that rise possible for one more young person.
