Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
We are heartbroken to share that Corlon McDuffy, age 10, passed away unexpectedly from an asthma attack. He was a bright, fun-loving child whose energy and friendliness touched those around him.
Corlon was a 5th grader at Rock Island Center for Math and Science. He was easy-going and determined. Many sports practices and games saw him supporting his teammates and cheerfully getting the job done. He often had a sparkle in his eye and a bit of a swagger. He was fun to be around. This loss has left us devastated beyond words.
Corlon was especially close to his younger brother, 8-year-old Corvon, and they played on many Rock Island teams together (Little League baseball, Little Rocks football, Future Rocks basketball, Parks & Rec, etc). He was coachable and kind.
He was a very active kid and a great teammate. His mother’s support was dedicated and passionate. Her voice could be heard across the fields as she cheered for her boys.
Corlon had an asthma attack at his home. His mother is a nurse and was able to give him CPR before he was rushed to the hospital. After a few hopeful days in the ICU, Corlon passed away.
The financial burden of funeral costs, medical expenses, and the family’s current hardships are overwhelming. We are raising funds to help cover funeral arrangements, burial/cremation, and give lasting comfort to his mother and family in this unimaginably difficult time.
Any donation, no matter how small, would provide much-needed relief and hope. Thank you for your support and words of comfort.
