Hello family and dear friends,

I am reaching out for a family friend in need. I’m sure many of you have heard me talk about one of Finley’s friends, her very best friend, Cora. She is preparing to begin her senior year at Danville High School, where she has been part of the same close-knit classmates since Kindergarten. Her journey has not been without challenges. Her mother continues to bravely confront the long-term effects of childhood abuse trauma, which have contributed to struggles with alcoholism, as well as a debilitating condition known as Brittle Bone Disease - making regular employment nearly impossible. Her father, despite lacking access to higher education or vocational training, has worked relentlessly to provide for his family of five.

What has always stood out to me about Cora's family is the richness of their faith, their love of family and friends, and sense of community. In spite of limited financial resources, their deep commitment to one another - and those around them - radiates in everything they do. When Finley faced one of her darkest moments, it was Cora who showed up instantly, offering her support and unwavering friendship. Their bond began when Fin was in Kindergarten cheering for DJFL, and from that moment on, Cora has helped our super shy Finny blossom. Outside her school and work commitments, Cora generously volunteers her time as a cheerleading coach for children with special needs. Her dedication to her squad has made a meaningful impact and just recently, they proudly earned 2nd place at a cheer competition in Cincinnati. Her compassion, leadership, drive, and love for others inspires the youth she mentors, but all who have the privilege of knowing her.

It is now my turn to support Cora and I need some help. The family does not own a vehicle and relies entirely on others - including relatives, friends, and Uber - for transportation. With the new school year quickly approaching, the only option for Cora and her sister to get to school is via the Avon Community Schools bus system. For someone who never grew up in one school district, it breaks my heart to think about Cora missing out on her final year with her Danville classmates - a truly exceptional group of young people. Reliable transportation would also allow her to maintain employment without relying on expensive rides.

We are seeking to raise $3000 to assist Cora, with $1000 allocated for insurance and gas cards. Your contribution would be a meaningful step toward giving Cora the opportunity and stability she so deserves.
