Help Me Make an Ironman Journey Count for a Great Cause!
Hi! My name is Connor Heavican, and I’m a 19-year-old student at the University of Nebraska Omaha. I’m on a mission to complete my first-ever full Ironman triathlon on September 20, 2025, in Cambridge, Maryland. For those who don’t know, the Ironman is one of the most grueling athletic challenges: a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a full marathon (26.2 miles) all in one day.
But this journey isn’t just about crossing the finish line. I want to use this incredible challenge to make a real difference in my community. That’s why I’m dedicating my race to raising money for the DADS Appreciating Down Syndrome Foundation, an incredible Omaha-based nonprofit that is committed to empowering parents and strengthening families.
What Is the DADS Foundation?
The DADS Foundation focuses on helping parents become positive, engaged role models for their children and communities. Through mentoring, financial support, and other resources, the organization works to provide tools needed to overcome obstacles, build strong family relationships, and thrive as individuals. Their programs make a real difference in the lives of parents and their families, creating a ripple effect of positivity throughout the Omaha community.
I was inspired to choose the DADS Foundation not only because of the life-changing work they do but also because of my personal connection through baseball, having played under Mike Adams.
How You Can Help:
My goal is to raise $5,000 by race day in September 2025. Every dollar donated will go directly to the DADS Foundation to support their vital programs and initiatives. Whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this campaign, your support means the world to me and will have a lasting impact on families who need it most.
Why This Matters:
Through this campaign, I hope to inspire others to see the power of perseverance, community, and giving back. Completing an Ironman is a personal dream, but making it a platform for positive change is even more rewarding.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Together, we can make a difference—one act of kindness and one mile at a time.
Donate now and help me support the DADS Foundation.
With gratitude,
Connor Heavican
