Our loving sister Constance is 30 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer. This came as a surprise to us all, since she had just recently announced that she and her husband Matt are expecting their second child. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. While raising a toddler. I think it goes without saying that calling the McDaniel family ‘tough’ would be an understatement.

Connie underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy starting in July and up until October 2020. In November, at 28 weeks pregnant, she had her first mastectomy. While the cancer in her breast was successfully removed at that time, doctors found that the cancerous cells had spread to her lymph nodes as well. As a result, and after much assurance from her doctors, she will continue with chemotherapy treatments with the hopes that it will remove the cancer and allow her to carry the baby to term. Eventually, Connie will undergo a second mastectomy with the expectation that it will greatly decrease the risk that this cancer will return in the future.

We started this GoFundMe because we believe that financial assistance will allow some peace of mind for Matt, Connie, and their 2-year-old daughter Isla. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Our goal is for Connie and Matt to focus on recovery, raising their daughter Isla, and preparing for the new baby due in January 2021.
