The Offaly Africa Support Group (OASG) objectives are to involve Africans and other minority groups to become active participant in the local community through various programmes and events.

Our goal is to create an inclusive community where everyone is welcomed and treated fairly.

We recognize that members of our community, including those residing in international protection centers, are eager to engage and connect with others in meaningful ways. Many hope to integrate by joining local activities such as sports teams, dance classes, knitting clubs, children’s summer camps, baby play groups, cultural events, celebration of Africa Day, Christmas parties, Award nights and Quiz nights. These shared experiences allow both local residents and those from international protection centers to come together, fostering friendships and celebrating our community's diversity with music, food, and entertainment. Through these events, we aim to build an inclusive environment where everyone can connect, share, and feel a true sense of belonging and help build a more inclusive and integrated community.

How Your Support Can Help:

There are, however, significant financial barriers for many residents to join these activities. The cost of organizing events like children’s summer camps, Africa Day, Intercultural day, Christmas party, Award nights and Quiz night, as well as providing essential sports kits and equipment, makes it difficult for individuals to participate without outside help.
