Support CoLab Studios: Help Recover After Devastating Theft
Donation protected
We’re proud to call Neriah not just a friend but also a studio neighbor. As the owner and sole operator of CoLab Studios—a Black-owned photography rental and education space in Bushwick—Neriah has poured so much love and dedication into building an affordable, fully equipped creative space. CoLab is more than just a studio; it’s a community-driven resource that lowers barriers for people of color to create, learn, and collaborate.
Unfortunately, on March 2nd, 2025, someone who had visited the space returned without permission and stole thousands of dollars worth of essential gear—equipment that Neriah and the CoLab community rely on to continue their creative and professional work. This loss is devastating, not just financially but emotionally, and puts a tremendous strain on a space that means so much to so many and negatively impacts Neriah's creative and professional endeavors.
In this difficult moment, we’re turning to our community for support. Our goal is to help Neriah recover the stolen gear and give him at least a month’s break from studio rent so he can take a breath and rebuild after this heartbreaking incident.
If you’re able, any contribution –big or small– would mean the world. CoLab has been a safe haven and a vital resource, and we would hate for this to be the reason it has to close its doors. Thank you for any support you can offer!
