About the association

The agricultural production association Mishki Runa (Gente dulce) was founded on 22 March 2022 and is located in the Province of Napo, canton Tena, in Ecuadorian Amazon. They aim to develop fair trade, clean agro-ecological production with farmers in the Kichwa community of Unión Venecia, where they are located.

For 3 years the association has been developing the productive sector in areas related to the production of fine aroma cocoa in the community. They aim to value the work of direct farmers, to encourage fair trade and fair payment for their cocoa beans, which in turn the association transforms into chocolate bars to be marketed locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

At present, a brand created within the association called Wayta is being marketed. Its origin comes from a Kichwa word that translates into Spanish as "Aromas, smells, flavours", thus this product seeks to add value throughout the production chain, from the plantations in the sustainable Chakra system (Permacultural System), harvesting, post-harvesting, to the bar. In this way the brand has gained acceptance as a clean product, that generates confidence in consumers, but the international market is becoming more and more demanding. For this reason the association is motivated to seek funding, because the implementation of the processes to go international takes time in addition to the high costs for the entire implementation process.

What are the benefits of organic certification?

These certificates will help us:

The certification will be focused not only on cocoa of origin, but also on new agricultural production alternatives, such as vanilla, guayusa and other products. All the new products are based on ancestral knowledge, social values and Kichwa culture, benefiting more and more indigenous families.

How would the money raised be spent if the target is reached?

The target amount raised will be allocated as follows:

Certifying company (4.000,00 $): Regulatory body that will grant the certifications, according to the process with a duration of 6-8 months, depending on the compliance or potential delay of technical guidelines.

Professional services (3.000,00 $): Contracting professional auditors to carry out the stages of implementation and execution to obtain the certificates.

Technicians (8.100,00 $): Recruitment of 3 field technicians for implementation and control of all stages of certification.

Logistics (900,00$): Transport, administrative expenses.

Note: The duration of the certification process is 6 months and each field technician, who will be hired from the community, where the association is located, will receive a monthly salary equal to one basic salary according to Ecuadorian regulations.

Wie wird das gesammelte Geld ausgegeben, wenn das Ziel erreicht wird?

Zertifizierungsunternehmen (4.000,00 $): Aufsichtsbehörde, die die Zertifizierungen gemäß dem Verfahren mit einer Dauer von 6-8 Monaten erteilt, je nach Einhaltung oder möglicher Verzögerung der technischen Richtlinien.

Professionelle Dienstleistungen (3.000,00 $): Beauftragung professioneller Auditoren mit der Durchführung der Implementierungs- und Ausführungsphasen zur Erlangung der Zertifikate.

Techniker (8.100,00 $): Einstellung von 3 Technikern vor Ort für die Durchführung und Kontrolle aller Zertifizierungsphasen.

Logistik (900,00$): Transport, Verwaltungskosten.
