Jenks High School Cross Country Coach, James Strahorn, is racing across the state of Oklahoma to raise money for the Jenks Community Food Bank and his student athletes! This journey will begin on Wednesday, July 23rd at Sunset.
Coach Strahorns race across the state consists of a 500 mile route. The route begins in the panhandle of Oklahoma at the New Mexico and Oklahoma state line, and finishes at the eastern border of Oklahoma at the Arkansas and Oklahoma state line. Coach Strahorn will pass through the towns of Boise City, Guymon, Hardesty, Woodward, Seiling, Canton, Okeene, Hennessey, Stillwater, Yale, Mannford, Tulsa, Inola, Chouteau, Locust Grove, Kansas and Colcord.
Coach Strahorn currently holds the record for the fastest time run from the north border to the south border. This will be his second attempt from the west border to the east border.
The current record from the west border to the east border is 8 days, 11 hours and 52 minutes set by Justin Walker in 2018.
