For nearly 50 years, Ron-known to so many as “Coach” has been a constant in people’s lives. A mentor. A teacher. A steady voice. The kind of man who shows up, no matter what.

At Edina, at Holy Family and everywhere in between, Coach didn’t just teach-he invested in people. He pushed kids to be better, believed in them when they didn’t believe in themselves and quietly helped however he could.

That’s who he is.

Now, he needs that same support.

Over the past decade, Coach has faced recurring and serious health challenges, including life-threatening infections that have required hospitalizations.

While he’s thankfully back home, these challenges haven’t gone away. They remain unpredictable, ongoing and costly.

The Reality Right Now

Coach is living on a fixed income without the financial cushion needed to handle:

Each month requires careful planning and there’s little room to prepare for what may come next.

Angela, Coach’s daughter and the co-fundraiser organizer, provides ongoing informal support with household management, errands, appointments, home-related coordination and other day-to-day needs, that help him remain at home.

The fundraiser is managed with Coach’s knowledge and approval.

Contributions may be used for his benefit, as well as reasonable support-related expenses--such as assistance provided by family or others that help him remain at home and maintain his quality of life.

As his circumstances change, Coach determines how his needs are prioritized.

This effort is about long-term stability—not just covering medical bills, but helping Coach manage the full scope of everyday living expenses that come with ongoing health and life challenges.

It is about ensuring he can remain safe and independent at home while preparing for whatever comes next—whether that involves continued support from family, additional in-home help, health related costs or future care planning.
