I hope you all are well... My name is Melissa, wife to Clint, and we have two beautiful girls, 7 & 19. Our family is having financial hardship due to a second round of a rare cancer my husband has that is called Myxoid Liposarcoma. He is a Navy veteran who was a firefighter on the ship's flight deck. We live in Alaska and believe it or not, there is not a cancer specialist in the entire state who will care for this cancer; therefore, we need to fly to the Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Washington. VA will not pay for our flights due to not being "service connected." We have been at zero income since 25 rounds of radiation treatment, and I've been a stay-at-home mom, homeschool teacher, and volunteer at our local mission. We are asking for help for travel so my husband won't have to be in Washington for 3 weeks without his family. There is a huge risk of not being able to pay for our Hotel or Transportation. If this cancer returns for a 3rd time, he will need to have his leg amputated.
