Support Clara Maass Healthcare Providers - COVID19

Donation protected
As the war on COVID-19 ensues, the soldiers at the front-line are our nurses, doctors, and hospital employees. These brave individuals don’t go into work without fear; they are scared of the virus, the death that comes of it, and the risk of contracting it. But that fear doesn’t prevent them from fulfilling their passion for helping others and saving lives. These healthcare providers need relief as they are working tirelessly to help their patients survive, all while not having the appropriate resources to fight this battle. As companies are stepping up to help provide these resources to our hospitals to the best of their abilities, we, as citizens, can help in another way: provide meals to our healthcare providers. It’s no secret that our restaurant industry has taken a huge hit as well during this pandemic, so let’s make this a win-win for everyone!

Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville, NJ is no exception to this crisis as they are in the heart of Essex County, which has the second highest rate of cases in New Jersey. This hospital in particular holds a special place in my heart as it is the hospital in which my mother-in-law and father-in-law both work in. Many of you know Rosie and John extraordinarily well as they are the first people to welcome you with open arms and put a huge smile on your face. To know them is to love them, and without them, life would be incomplete. During this crisis, they continue to work tirelessly to support their coworkers and fellow healthcare providers to ensure they are helping an ailing population that has taken over the hospital, specifically the ICU.

The Tomasello family, formally of NJ but currently residing in Washington DC, has donated pizzas to Clara Maass as a way to show their support and to kick off a wonderful way we can give back to our heroes! This movement  was created by Sandi Tomasello whose heart of gold knows no bounds. She has seen how the DC community has come to the aid of hospitals during this critical time and wanted to start this movement in her home state. Our goal is to continue to send meals to Clara Maass at least twice a week so that the soldiers fighting this battle for us are not only fueling up to support their own immune systems so they can stay in the fight as long as possible, but also to let them know that our community cares for them like they care for us. We want to continue sending meals weekly for as long as the fight against COVID-19 continues. All the money raised will 100% go to providing meals for the healthcare providers of Clara Maass Hospital. This is a difficult time for us all, financially and mentally. If you are unable to donate any money but want to still show your support, you can totally do that! Please contact us to see how you can help in other ways. Please consider donating anything you can to help support this measure. It’s the least we can do as we sit at home to protect others as they are risking their lives to save ours! We are hoping to encourage everyone to play a part in supporting this battle and support all nurses, doctors, and hospital employees out there!
