Many of you have reached out asking how you can help the Shores Family — now is your chance.
With Amanda staying home to care for ClaireBear and Ethan working full-time, your prayers and donations mean more than ever.
Every act of support — big or small — is deeply appreciated by their family during this time.
On Monday, June 23, 2025, Ethan and Amanda rushed ClaireBear to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and difficulty breathing. After an initial evaluation and concerning bloodwork, she was transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for further testing and CBC. Unfortunately, the numbers did not come back good.
There, doctors delivered the devastating news: they suspected leukemia.
On Tuesday, June 24, following more blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy, our fears were confirmed — Claire was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
By Thursday, June 26, Claire had surgery to have her port placed, underwent a lumbar puncture to test spinal fluid, and bravely started her first round of chemotherapy.
The goal? For Claire to reach remission within the next 28 days. But her journey doesn’t end there. She will undergo 2.5 years of chemotherapy and around 20 lumbar punctures to make sure every last cancer cell is gone.
Claire is still in the hospital, supported by her loving parents Ethan and Amanda. Big sister Julia is holding down the fort at home, missing her best friend and hero, but soaking up Grammy snuggles in the meantime. ❤️
Please keep Claire and our families in your prayers. Any donation — no matter how small — will go directly toward medical costs, travel, and support for Claire’s long road ahead.
Thank you for standing with us. #ClaireBearStrong
