This GoFundMe is to help support my sister, Claire, as she recovers from major surgery after a long, painful, and emotionally exhausting year.

For over a year, Claire lived with a large ovarian cyst. At first, doctors believed it was unexplained ascites and drained it, but it returned — and continued to grow. It eventually reached an alarming size of 11 × 8 × 5 inches (about the size of a shoebox).

As it grew, Claire experienced severe abdominal pain, pressure, and discomfort, leading to multiple ER visits. The physical toll also deeply affected her mental health — she struggled to eat without vomiting and was often mistaken for being pregnant, which was incredibly difficult emotionally.

After dozens of tests, including bloodwork, ultrasounds, and MRIs across several hospitals and doctors, she finally found a specialist who identified the issue and was confident in removing it. Claire underwent major surgery on 01/06/26, during which her right ovary and the mass were removed.

Recovery is expected to take about six weeks, during which she won’t be able to work, drive, or stand or walk for more than a few minutes at a time. She has already missed countless hours of work, and medical bills are quickly adding up from her many appointments and procedures.

I know this is a big ask, and I don’t expect to raise the full amount — I’m just hoping to ease the financial stress even a little so she can focus on healing.
