Hi everyone,

My name is Sheena “ She She” Herod , and I am the director of the documentary Monster in the Family: The Lester Street Murders. I am working closely with survivor CJ Dotson and his siblings to tell their story—truthfully, respectfully, and from the inside out.

This project is more than a documentary. Alongside the film, we are also developing CJ’s book, which will further explore his journey of survival, healing, and resilience. Both projects will include never-before-seen photos, as well as intimate interviews with family members and friends who were closest to the victims, sharing untold stories that have never been publicly heard.

Our goal is to honor the lives lost, give survivors a voice, and shed light on the lasting impact of violence on families and communities. This project also brings critical awareness to mental health, trauma, and the long road to healing after tragedy.
